Juventus coach explains why Ronaldo was put on the bench last night

Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo says he has agreed with Cristiano Ronaldo that the Portuguese striker could be on the bench for last night's 3-1 win over Lazio.

The 36-year-old striker was not named in the starting XI in Juventus' win over Lazio at the Allianz Stadium.
  Pirlo explained why he decided to put Ronaldo on the bench because he wanted to rest in preparation for the UEFA Champions League match against Porto, which Italy lost 2-1 in the first leg.
"They played eight or nine games in a row, we agreed this week to give Ronaldo a break, we plan ahead," Pirlo told Sky Sports Italia.
"Cristiano is a value-added player, we did what they had to do last night without anyone. "Cristiano has scored 20 goals and it is normal for other players to score."
